The Village of Glen Carbon would like to provide you with feedback on the success of the development plan in Glen Carbon - Cottonwood Mall.

In 1996 THF agreed to rehabilitate the Mall and to construct a community shopping center. It is important to the economic and social welfare of the Village that the Village promote the economic vitality of the community by assuring and providing opportunity for development and sound and stable commercial growth. The Village was very interested in enhancing the tax base in this area and improving the income produced by the commercial property involved.

I am happy to report that property values have increased, and that tax revenue generated from the redevelopment of this area has doubled! The increase in revenue to the Village is greatly appreciated.

In addition to these financial accomplishments, Cottonwood Mall provides a place for members of our community to work and shop. Several local proprietors are located in the Mall. This provides the opportunity of being a business owner in the community where you live, something that our citizens value.

The Mall and the surrounding area also provides establishments where families can go to dine, another important aspect for the Village.

We are very pleased with the development, and THF's achievement of the commitments associated with delivering this development.
