Alan Bornstein

Alan Bornstein officially joined THF in 2000, following 15 years as THF's lead counsel through Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal. Alan's work for THF includes negotiating and managing the development process for numerous community shopping centers, office and industrial developments, including land assembly, governmental approval, architect's agreements, construction agreements, construction financing, acquisition of properties for rehabilitation, and dispositions of completed community centers. His work in this area has involved properties in more than twenty states. In addition, he has participated in and negotiated a number of multiple-tier real estate joint ventures.

Alan is a partner with Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal in St. Louis. He concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate and corporate law. He has extensive experience in negotiating and documenting real estate transactions on behalf of both lenders and developers. He has participated in and managed acquisition, construction, and permanent financings, including projects involving speculative land acquisitions, commercial office developments, mixed use developments, golf courses, and regional shopping mall properties. He also is experienced in real estate syndication, having worked on the creation of real estate and disclosure documents for Regulation D syndicated offerings.

Alan is a member of The Missouri Bar and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. Alan received his JD from Washington University and his LLM from New York University. He received his B.S. from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
